My work at the USCCB allowed me to research topics of interest for those engaged in ministry today. One of these topics is conflict management and resolution.
“Transforming Ministry Formation” recognizes the work of Dr. DelMonico for resourcing development of professional lay ministry standards at the national level.
In 2021, I wrote an essay on the possibilities for strategic change in various aspects of Catholic ministries in the U.S. based on learnings from innovative ministries provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In my role as Director of Certification for Ecclesial Ministry at the USCCB, I worked with colleagues in the Catholic Prison Ministries Coalition and the National Association of Catholic Chaplains to develop these innovative and comprehensive competencies, which will help prepare Catholics across the country for the vital work of providing spiritual care for those who are incarcerated or affected by incarceration in any way, including those in immigrant detention.
In the wake of the devastating human and financial impacts of the pandemic on our churches and ministries, the Risen Christ calls us to a “new normal.”
