I have served as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Marymount University in Arlington, VA and as Affiliate Faculty at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, MD. I taught multiple sections of the required undergraduate course in theology at both locations. The course provided an introduction to the discipline of Christian theology by examining the perennial questions of existence and the answers to those questions found in the Christian faith. It presented an overview of the development of Christian theology with an emphasis on the role Christian theology can play in the students’ lives, culture, and world. The issue of the responsibilities of Christianity in a pluralistic world is also addressed. Recent books I have used in the courses include:

  • Christian Thought and Practice: A Primer by Natalie Kertes Weaver. Revised edition. Winowna, MN: Anselm Academic, 2015.
  • Jesus and His Enemies: Narrative Conflict in the Four Gospels by Robert R. Beck. Maryknoll: Orbis, 2017.
  • Let Us Dream: The Path to a Better Future by Pope Francis with Austin Ivereigh. (ISBN: 9781982171872)
  • Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time: The Historical Jesus & The Heart of Contemporary Faith by Marcus Borg. New York: HarperOne, 1995.
  • On Care for Our Common Home: Laudato Si’ by Pope Francis. 2013
  • The Crucible of Racism: Ignatian Spirituality and the Power of Hope by Patrick Saint-Jean, S.J., Ph.D. (ISBN: 9781626984684)
